The Story
From a small village in Rajasthan to one of the world's most prestigious international platforms, Neeru Yadav's journey reflects the power of grassroots leadership and community-driven development.
As a representative of India, she participated in the 57th Session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development (CPD) held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. During the event, she highlighted innovative rural governance practices, women's leadership, environmental conservation, biodiversity initiatives, sports for girls, and sustainable community development implemented at the Gram Panchayat level.
Her participation demonstrated that local innovations can contribute to solving global challenges and directly support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She also engaged with international policymakers, diplomats, development professionals, and civil society leaders to exchange ideas, share best practices, and strengthen global partnerships.
The visit reinforced the belief that local action creates global impact, positioning rural India as a source of innovation, resilience, and sustainable development.
