
Neeru Yadav, popularly known as the "Hockey Wali Sarpanch," was selected as a Grassroots Leader Panelist at the BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting held on 8–9 July 2026 in Kochi, Kerala. She represented grassroots leadership by sharing innovative rural governance practices, women-led development initiatives, and community-driven models for sustainable development with delegates and policymakers from BRICS countries. Her participation highlighted the transformative role of Panchayati Raj institution

In recognition of Neeru Yadav's innovative grassroots initiatives in rural development, women's empowerment, environmental conservation, and community leadership, she was specially invited to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. During this prestigious visit, she had the honour of meeting the Hon'ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, and sharing her experiences and innovative governance model.
